tgif
emails like this really make my day. this is why i like my dear friend robyn:
“Remember that tgif mug you gave me? Do you know that the majority of my office knows that is MY mug and I use it on Fridays only and they are not to take it? If it’s ever missing on Fridays, I walk around to all the desks to find it and tell the person HANDS OFF. That mug brings me so much joy. “

boot-y call
today, i watched a man break down. i’m sure he was having a great morning. coffee. bagel. paid all his bills on-line with one easy click. grabbed his coat. head out the door. said hi to the old lady while crossing the street. and then, bam.
his car had been booted. i saw this man break down on the side of the street.
he was scratching and shaking his head. was it a tear i saw too? if i...

speechless
i’ve been thinking more and more about tonya and robert harris, the soul winners of the $270 million dollar jackpot this weekend.watch the video here.
on the today show, i think they just had a case of the mondaze. because how could one be so stoic talking about winning that amount of money? i was watching the television in shock.
just like the harris family, kevin also bought a mega...

in the face of adversity, i'm going to slap it....
an addendum to an earlier post. read part one here. i forgot another one:
good deed #4: i regularly by toms shoes even though i haven’t worn the last three pairs i’ve bought. CRACK!

in the face of adversity, i'm going to slap it.
i’ll say it again: in the face of adversity, i’m going to slap it! how? by doing good deeds. that’s how, reader!
good deed #1: a macy’s note came in the mail saying that i helped raise over $13,000,000 dollars for the make-a-wish foundation by participating in the thanks for sharing program. SLAP!
good deed #2: i also recently joined the board of directors at the reilly...

sweet dreams
what a diverse group that reads this thing! i’m honored. however, it’s bitter sweet, readers. but i must keep looking forward. i’m good enough, smart enough, and gd it, people like me.
apart from the letter, here are some other not-so-nice things that happened to me yesterday.
1. when boarding the bus, the bus driver silently waved his hand to let me know that the machine was...

i'm dye-ing right now!
a letter was recently sent to the new york office of my company. It noted that I was planning some ‘cruel experiment’ to color live mice for one of my shoots.
i could see where you might have gotten confused, reader!
the original post was about how my grandfather used to dye baby chicks for easter for my mother. I am not a scientist; i was wondering if they still used the same...

nailed
i was already a little turned off since our cab driver thought kevin and i were twins. no offense to kevin, but we just don’t look alike. he was very nice (at least what we understood) and happy to drive us from lakeview to bucktown with no problems.
except the fingernail.
while talking about the weather (again) he was ever-so-slowly chewing away at his fingernails and slyly flicking...
